06-2020 Smudge Kit.jpg

We invite you to smudge with us on site. Smudge kits are also available to take home.

Smudging is a traditional way of prayer, common to many Indigenous peoples globally. Smudging often involves burning one or more medicines from Mother Earth, including tobacco, sage, sweetgrass, and cedar. Once the medicines are lit, the rising smoke is considered a purifying agent for the mind, body, and spirit, as well as a connection to the spirit world.

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather in Treaty Six Territory is the traditional gathering place for many Indigenous people. We honour and respect the history, languages, ceremonies and culture of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit who call this territory home.
